You right, it does happen too often… how many stories do we read about people leaving the endo’s office in tears? I think some things might change if more and more people took the time to examine their medical records…

I would say I can’t believe this happened but I know it happens all too often. I requested my records from my endo about a year and a half ago to look over and send to another specialist for a different problem, I was appalled at what was in my file. I asked for only a short time spam however the endo’s office sent me the notes from fourish years back and more.
It still makes me throw-up a little in my mouth to think about it.

I applaud your dedication – although since it’s your life/health, dedication is required, isn’t it? I love stories like this, because it shows that one person CAN shift perceptions and drive change. It does, however, take the aforementioned dedication. And a big bolus of determination, too.

With someone that isn’t doing their job, it comes down to “cover your own a**” and that’s sad. I was really, really blessed with a great CDE to do my initial pump training. She trained on a Thursday and then gave me her person cell phone number. I never used it but she called me after 7 pm on that Thursday night, 4 times on Friday, twice on Saturday and once on Sunday.
A truly good CDE is going to be available for the first week or so around the clock. I’m GLAD you took the steps to get things taken off your medical records because when a new doc sees this, they only know what they’ve gotten in the records. By insisting that your medical records were correct, you did yourself a huge favor. And I only wish more people read their personal medical records like you did.
